That Girl
I think this photo just sums up Gabrielle's personality. Can't you just see her reporting from the sidelines of some football game?
Our Personal Trainers
We really have been trying to eat well and have a healthy lifestyle around our house. We have been exercising and keeping food journals to record what eat and the calories we consume each day. Luckily we have some help with this. It's nice to have personal trainers such a these:
Mia makes sure everyone is motivated by watching The Biggest Loser. You're supposed to do exercises during the commercials. She supervises from the couch.
Fluffy makes sure that no one makes any unscheduled trips to the refrigerator. You have to get past the guard to get to any extra snacks!
We are trying to make healthy choices, but you can consume a lot less calories if you give in to Sydney's incessant begging. She is always happy to lick your yogurt container for some reason. I think it makes her coat shiny, too.
Overall, I think we are doing pretty well. I know we will be able to keep it up with such support. Now I have to go, they are waiting for me to do a little "downward facing dog".

Snowman
The snowman here at our house apparently eat right and work out regularly. Look closely at those abs! I think he needs a little lower body work though. Where is the snow step? More than a week later he's still standing, so he does have endurance. He did give in to a little stress though and lost his head. But that is a typical post Christmas reaction!
More Christmas
After our Christmas in Oklahoma, we made the trip back to Columbia. We brought Lisa and Mitchel back to stay at our house until New Year's Eve. We watched movies, made yummy food, played in the snow, and the girls gave us a mini flute concert. Here are some pictures of all the kids together.

Christmas 2009
Is it too late to blog about Christmas? The stockings were emptied, the tree has been put away, and the garbage truck finally came for all that wrapping paper trash! But if it's not too late, here's what we did for Christmas 2009. It was our year to travel home to Oklahoma for Christmas, and it was a white one. Who knew we would have thunder, lightening, and snow for Christmas in Oklahoma??
Before we left for Tulsa the girls opened their stockings and their main gift from us. Gabrielle, budding film producer, got a Flip camera. She has already taken some cute videos. Madison never expected that we would get her her own phone with texting. We wouldn't have had to do anything else. They were both thrilled to get these items. Gone are the days when a ball and a babydoll suffice! We have had to go high tech this year.
Our first night of our trip we spent with Jared's family at his brother's house. We had a fun night with pizza, presents, and fun games complete with prizes. These cousins just get cuter and cuter! Thanks Linda, Boyd & Rhonda for such a fun evening. The kids had a great time!
We spent Christmas Eve going out to lunch, shopping, and to the movies and out and about in the crazy weather. We had to eat at some of favorite restaurants, which was a challenge by evening. We finally found a Chinese place open (see previous post). The rest of the evening we watched the blizzard and thunder snow! We woke up to plenty of snow cover for the girls to play in. We opened presents at my mom's Christmas morning complete with cocoa. Later the girls went out to play. We had a wonderful dinner and relaxing day! Thank you Mom & Dad for everything. By the way, it was so much fun to have Ruby at your house, too. I am glad she got to stay.
Finally, the day before we left, the girls got to see their cousin Kennedy. They arrived back from their trip and were reunited with Ruby (their dog), Kennedy got to open his presents from the girls, and they played in the snow a little. They all slept well that night! So even though it was cold and snowy outside, our Christmas holiday was very "warm & fuzzy" inside.
