No Friend like a Sister…

Thanks everyone who called and sent texts to wish Madison happy birthday! She had a fun day.

Madison's Birthday Cake

Madison is 15! We had a fun day celebrating this milestone in her life. For her cake we did a two layer red velvet cake with homemade cream cheese frosting. The cake was then circled about with golden oreo stix and topped with crushed cookies and white chocolate shavings.We tied it together with a lavendar glittery ribbon.


To top it off we dipped beautiful strawberries in white chocolate and placed them atop the cake. It was a delicious, multi-layered birthday treat.

Fuddruckers

We went to lunch at Fuddruckers the other day for Madison's birthday. Here's a cute shot of her with the Beatles in the background!

Apparently they stopped off here on the way to the gym.

Driving

Wednesday was Madison's 15th birthday. The first item of business that day was to go and take her written test to get her learner's permit. She passed and here is the proof! She has been practicing driving everyday since. Congratulations, Madison!

The Art and the Arch

Last week the newlyweds (Brycen and Lisa) came for a visit. We had a lot of fun including celebrating Lisa's birthday, playing tennis and Frisbee golf, playing lots of different games on the Wii, viewed some funny YouTube videos, and a day trip to St. Louis. While in St. Louis we went up in the Gateway Arch, visited the SLAM (Saint Louis Art Museum) and couldn't leave town before stopping for frozen custard at Ted Drewes. Here are few photos :

Pink Zebra

While Lisa and Brycen were visiting this week, we celebrated Lisa's birthday. Here is what we came up with for her cake! We looked at a bunch of pictures online and then combined a few for this two tier zebra stripe cake. Everyone pitched in to help rolling those little pink beads for the border. I think it turned out super cute! I love this animal print style! Now I need to learn how to do other prints as well as how to make the bows out of fondant.
